Orpix was founded in 2009 by a group of engineers and graduate student researchers from UC San Diego who specialize in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing. Â Among them, Co-founder and technical advisor, Professor Serge Belongie (UCSD) is a leader in computer vision research. Â After years of successfully applying cutting edge research to a variety of domains, they started Orpix and developed a generic image recognition framework that is used to solve real-world image and video recognition problems.
Orpix has successfully applied its framework to problems in surveillance, media, bio-imaging, and various new product prototypes.
